Dear Parents and Carers,
We have made it to the end of term and what a joyous couple of weeks we have had in school! Please see attached some wonderful photographs from our Christmas activities.
This week in school
Following our Advent service and Nativities last week, we started this week with our Schola Choir singing at St Winefride’s Advent Service on Monday evening.
This was followed by our Christmas Lunch on Tuesday where our catering team led by our chef, Narine, all did an amazing job! Thank you too, to the team of PTA parents who helped us serve the lunches to the children.
Mass in Anticipation of Christmas
Yesterday we had our Mass in Anticipation of Christmas. The children in Y3 prepared the readings and prayers and we are very thankful to Canon John for celebrating Mass for us. Canon John offered the Mass for Mrs Goldsmith who is leaving us this term after her maternity leave. We were delighted to welcome Mrs Goldsmith to Mass along with her baby Florence, who loved every minute of being here. We thanked Mrs Goldsmith for her exceptional work for the pupils of St Elizabeth’s and we wish her all the very best in this next stage of her life. We look forward to her joining us for Masses and school events in the future. Miss Thompson will continue to lead the Reception class with Mrs Diver in the Spring and Summer Terms.
Thank you, parents…
Advent is a very special time at St Elizabeth’s and we would not be able to provide the children with all the opportunities without your support. Thank you for all you do for our school and a special thank you to our PTA for helping to make Advent and Christmastime so memorable for the children.
Your support of our Advent charities has raised an incredible £1,345 which will go directly to support the homeless at the Vineyard Community and children with physical disabilities at Small Steps School.
Thank you too for your kind gifts and cards - these are very much appreciated by the staff who have worked so enthusiastically and tirelessly this term.
Back to school
We look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 7th January after the Christmas break.
And finally
And finally, as we celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth this Christmas, on behalf of our school staff, we would like to wish you and your family happiness, joy and peace.
