Weekly Update 28th March 2025

Read our newsletter to find out what has been happening in school this week and upcoming events ...

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week in school

Thank you for attending your child’s parent-teacher meeting this week.  We hope you found these meetings helpful.

Y4 Passion Play

We are very proud of our Y4 pupils for their wonderful performance of the Passion Play today.  The Passion Play tells the story of Holy Week and Jesus’ resurrection. The children sang and acted brilliantly, recreating these events with maturity and dignity.  Thank you to Mrs FitzGerald, Mrs King and the staff team and well done too, to Y3 children for their fantastic support in the choir.

Richmond Borough Orchestra Day

Our school orchestra took part in a joint schools’ orchestral performance yesterday at The Exchange in Twickenham.  This was a unique opportunity to learn pieces and perform as a large orchestra with other local schools with a conductor and professional musicians.  It was a fantastic show of musical talent and collaboration, and the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Our Journey through Lent

Sponsored Spell for the Catholic Children’s Society

Congratulations to all the children for learning their words for the Sponsored Spell this week, and thank you to all those who sponsored them.  All sponsorship monies can be sent into school next week and they will be sent to the Catholic Children’s Society along with money raised through the Passion Play and the Lent collection boxes.

The Staff Spellathon took place on Tuesday this week and it was certainly a fierce competition.  Mrs Bolger, Mrs Singh, Miss Lopez, Mrs Knowles and Mrs Staveley all took turns to spell out loud a list of extremely tricky spellings chosen by the Pupil Chaplains.   It went to a tie break and in the end, Mrs Briggs was the winner.  Thank you to all for being such good sports!

Foodbank Donations

Thank you for your donations of food this week.  There is still time to make a donation on Monday if you would like to donate to this cause.

Stations of the Cross

On Thursday 3rd April we will be having a Stations of the Cross prayer service in school.  This is a children only service prepared by our Y5 pupils who will lead meditations on each of the Stations of the Cross.  Following this, our Y5 and Y6 pupils who have made their First Holy Communion, will have the opportunity for individual confession.

Next week in school

Pre-loved Uniform Sale – Tuesday 1st April

The pre-loved uniform sale will be taking place on Tuesday 1st April at morning drop off.  Thank you to Mrs McElroy, Y5 and Y6 parent, for organising!

Non-Uniform Day and Crazy Hair Day

On Friday next week, the children are encouraged to come into school wearing their own clothes along with crazy hair if they wish.  This is a charity event organised by our Pupil Chaplains to raise money for our Lent Charity, the Catholic Children’s Society.  Children are asked to bring in a donation of £1 for wearing their own clothes.
