Christ the Redeemer Catholic Education Trust
Friday 10th February 2023
Dear Stakeholders,
Christ the Redeemer Catholic Education Trust
We wrote to you in the summer of 2022 to inform you that the Governing Bodies of several Kingston and Richmond Catholic schools had agreed in principle to form Christ the Redeemer Catholic Education Trust (CtR CET).
Our Governing Body has been carefully considering the best future strategy for St Elizabeth’s Catholic Primary School so that we can continue to build on our achievements to date and work more closely in partnership with the other local Catholic schools. We believe that moving forwards with the formation of this Trust will help us to build on and develop existing excellence for all; protect the unique ethos, values, and character of our schools; whilst still enabling us to keep the freedom to run our school in ways best for our community of pupils, staff, parents, and carers.
The Catholic schools who will initially come together to form CtR CET already have a successful history of supporting each other to ensure the children in Kingston and Richmond receive a high-quality education. We believe that by formalising that relationship, we will be able to provide further opportunities for our own children and staff.
CtR CET has been successfully approved as a Multi Academy Trust by the Diocese and the Department for Education. The Governing Body are interested in understanding your views on this as we look to shape the future of our schools and begin the formal process of forming the Trust. We have prepared a document with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help answer some of the questions we anticipate you may have (see attached). This is also available on our website.
The formal period of consultation will open on Friday 10 February 2023 and close at midnight on Friday 3 March 2023. You can submit your feedback on the online form linked here at any point during that period. All feedback will be considered by the Governing Body. If you have any questions at all regarding the proposal that has not been answered in the FAQs document attached, then please email info@ctrcet.org.uk and copy in ourselves (emails below) and we will do our best to answer them for you.
I hope you agree that this is an exciting opportunity for all our schools to work in collaboration and support of one another to maintain a strong presence for Catholic Education in our Diocese and in Kingston and Richmond.
Yours sincerely,
Jane Hines Dr Oona Stannard
Headteacher Chair of Governors
